Purple Prairie Clover

My flowers name is the Purple Prairie Clover.The scientific classification name is Fabaceae. However,scientific name is Petalostemum Purpureum. What a tongue twister! These flowers grow everywhere in Texas but the Big Bend. This wonderful flower has a beautiful lavender purple and slender cones at the end of the wiry stems. The blooming period is may through september. It grows 1-3 feet tall.the suggested use for this flower are slopes, mass plantings, roadsides, meadows. An upright perennial variety native to the north central portion of the United States. They prefer sandy or well-drained soils in full sun. The germination (the time it sprouts in ) is 14-30 days.
